I Wish You Would

When I paint I like to take my time, to stay in control. This piece I started with the intent of pursuing something a little more raw. To begin with, I think these forms are much sharper than many others I've done, sandstone normally lends itself to a sense of softness. 

It was a challenge to avoid overworking certain areas, to let the underpainting show through. I had to stretch myself to figure out what "finished" meant for this one.
